SCALO’s Safari Themed Collection at Cape Town Fashion Week

Cape Town Fashion Week marked a monumental occasion for SCALO by Sello Medupe, celebrating 10 years of groundbreaking showcases with Africa Fashion International.
For a decade, the Johannesburg-based designer has earned his place as a favourite among South Africa’s A-list. Today, his brand stands as a beacon of opulence and drama, making every woman who wears SCALO feel extraordinary.
For his Cape Town Fashion Week collection, the designer went with a different feel. There were no elaborately beaded couture gowns on the runway, but rather an accessible, ready-to-wear collection for the woman who needs a stylish break after a long year.
“My approach to this collection was about merging South African heritage with futuristic sophistication. It’s all about taking inspiration from nature and translating it into haute couture,” Sello said in an interview with AFI ahead of the collection.
The six-look capsule collection, which has launched at AFI’s House of Nala stores in Sandton City and One&Only Cape Town, is a true resort collection.
The collection, inspired by safari aesthetics, has earthy tones, textured fabrics- lace and tassels, with some element of SCALO’s signature style.
SCALO’s collection offers wearable luxury that speaks to confidence and craftsmanship. These are garments designed to make a statement—bold yet refined, classic yet forward-thinking.
The SCALO Cape Town Fashion Week 2024 collection is now available at House of Nala, both online and at Sandton City and One&Only Cape Town. Pieces are limited, so don’t miss your chance to own a part of South African fashion history.
